Where to set one up

Short answer

Compliance Reminders are free emails 60, 30 and 7 days before a filing deadline, with a free account or without one. Members also get a 90-day notice and an overdue notice. Filing is a separate order: an annual report is $120 + state fee.

Common questions

Are the reminders really free?

Yes, with or without an account. We charge only if you ask us to file, and an annual report is $120 + state fee.

Do I need an account?

No. The calculator and the 990-N reminder work from an email address. A free member account adds a saved company list, the Compliance Deadlines view, the 90-day and overdue notices, and a portal bell alert.

When do the emails arrive?

Without an account, at 60, 30 and 7 days before the date, every year. For members, each notice goes out once its window opens: 61 to 90 days, 46 to 60, 16 to 45 and 0 to 15 days before. An overdue notice can follow for up to 45 days. We do not publish the time of day.

Which deadlines are covered?

State annual report and franchise tax dates for LLCs and corporations in all 50 states and DC, and the IRS 990-N for nonprofits. A state that files every two years is dated only in the years it is due.

How do I stop the emails?

Every email carries an unsubscribe link. Members can also turn on “Mute weekly compliance & deadline emails” in Account Settings.

Do the reminders file my report?

No. A reminder tells you a date is coming. Filing happens only if you order it. The calendar and the portfolio board only show dates and send no email.
