Nevada Nonprofit Name Search
Check a name against the official Nevada registry before you spend the filing fee.
Run your proposed name through the Nevada Secretary of State (SilverFlume) records (portal verified 2026-09-08). The same official search covers nonprofits and LLCs in Nevada; the state applies its nonprofit naming statute to whatever the registry shows. A clear search does not reserve the name or guarantee approval.
Search the official records
The Nevada Secretary of State (SilverFlume) keeps the authoritative business registry. Search the name exactly as you intend to file it, including punctuation and the designator.

- Try the name with and without a designator (Inc., Corp., Association); whether Nevada requires one for nonprofits is in the state's naming statute.
- Words implying a bank, insurer, school, or government agency are commonly restricted for nonprofits and may need state approval.
- Registered-agent coverage is required from day one of the entity; ours is $74.25 a year in Nevada through Registered Agents Inc. See the Nevada registered agent page.
