Formation month drives the deadline in states like WY, NV and VA; fiscal year end drives TN, NC and the IRS 990-N (due the 15th day of the 5th month after your year end). Nonprofit state reports use the corporation rule; some states set a different date for nonprofits — confirm on the state site.
